Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria has organised training for boat drivers operating in the region of Port Jarcout

The Deputy Managing Director, Deep Water, Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria, Mr. Ahmadu-Kida Musa, said the exercise would increase the capacity of professional boat drivers.

Musa, who disclosed this at the 2018 Marine Awareness Campaign during the training tagged, ‘Maritime Awareness Campaign’, explained that the exercise would enlighten boat operators.

Meanwhile. he stated that information on skills that would enable the boat drivers to perform their duties without hitch would be provided in the course of the training.

“Total and co-venturers in partnership with the NNPC decided to implement the marine awareness campaign to enlighten boat operators by providing them with appropriate safety information, rules and skills to enable boat operators to navigate inland waterways in a safer manner,” he said.

Musa expressed confidence that the training would significantly reduce cases of boat accidents on the waterways and make marine transport safer.
